Math:
Real life events, problem solving situations, and critical thinking skills are essential to the fifth grade math program. Conceptual understandings, computational operations, and application skills are introduced and developed through the use of manipulatives, visuals, and abstract approaches. Students review basic algorithms, investigate decimals and fractions, explore linear and solid geometry, and learn about the standard and metric measurement systems. Cooperative learning, enrichment, individualism, and remediation are all a part of our math curriculum.
Basic texts: Everyday Mathematics, Journals 1 and 2; Study Links; Student Reference Books.
