Powerful, sad, necessary.  Flowers for Algernon raises many difficult social and ethical questions and asks it’s audience not so much for answers, but rather simply to think candidly about the questions.  The film version (“Charly”) earned Cliff Robertson the Academy Award for his portrayal of the principal character.
