CultureGrams: CultureGrams is a quick way to find demographic data, information on the economy and political system, history and geography of all countries.

eLibrary This ProQuest product contains 32 million documents from over 2,000 full-text sources, including leading publications, updated daily.

Encyclopedia Britannica Online : Britannica's School Edition includes access to four encyclopedias of varying complexity, links to web resources and journal articles, graphics, and maps.

Europeana: is a free resource which provides digitized works of art, music, video, texts and recordings drawn from European museums, archives, special collections, and libraries. Use this to research primary source materials.

Gale Virtual Reference Library: contains 4 e-reference books: the Encyclopedia of the Modern MIddle East and North Africa; Europe 1789-1914; Europe Since 1914, and Westard Expansion Reference Library, as well as a social science reference: the Encyclopedia of Race and Racism. Select the title you are interested in searching before starting the search!

Genetics and Inherited Conditions:contains over 450 essays, including images, on genetic diseases, biology, genetic engineering, ethics and social issues. This is the online version of a print edition [available in the library].

Infotrac: This CWA-customized database consists of the Science Science in Contex, World and US History in Context, Opposing Viewpoints in Context and the Gale Virtual Reference Library. There is also a link on the main page to CWA's 5 Infotrac e-book references.

Opposing Viewpoints in Context: This resource is part of the Gale Infotrac collection of databases. It presents information on a variety of social issues, using reference, primary source, magazine, newspaper, media and online sources.

Oxford African American Studies Center: This scholarly resource contains over 7,500 articles on African American history from the landing of a black explorer in 1527 to personalities and events of the 21st century. Biographies, maps, primary documents, timelines and demographic graphs provide added depth.

Oxford Art Online: This resource contains the full text of the Dictionary of Art and the Oxford Companion to Western Art and images in the Bridgeman Art Library.

 

 

Oxford English Dictionary The OED is the definitive English dictionary, giving the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words.

Oxford Music Online: Grove Music contains the full text of the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, the New Grove Dictionary of Opera and the New Grove Dictionary of Jazz. It also has links to relevant external websites and audio examples.

Oxford Reference Online: Premium Collection: This online reference offers keyword and subject searches for dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other Oxford reference materials in the sciences, humanities, business and law.

Proquest: This service provides access to thousands of current periodicals, newspapers, and scholarly sources, many updated daily and containing full-text articles from the early 1980's.

Psychology and Mental Health: is the e-book version of a 5-volume print encyclopedia [available in the library] that covers,in the publisher's words, "notable theories, people, social issues, life stages, the physiology and anatomy of the nervous system, and various mental illnesses or conditions."

Science in Context: contains reference materials, journal articles, videos, images, experiments and news on a wide range of science topics.

Teen Health and Wellness:Real Life - Real Answers Teen Health is a database that focuses on physical and mental health information and issues relevant to teens.

U.S. History in Context: This resource is part of the Gale Infotrac collection of databases. Keyword searches typically produce a brief subject description with recommended expert sources, reference, news, primary sources and academic journals.

World History in Context: This resource is also part of the Infotrac collection of databases.
