The Internet Ancient History Sourcebook The Sourcebook is an extensive site including primary resources and covering Greece, Rome Egypt, Mesopotamia and Byzantium.

The Internet Medieval Sourcebook This is a gateway to primary sources form Muslim Persia, Turkey, pre-Islamic Arabia, Muhammad, the era of Islamic expansion, and the Abbasid Caliphate.

The Islamic World to 1600 The University of Calgary sponsors this site, which provides a history of the Islamic World as well as an introduction to Muslim beliefs and practices.

The Labryinth: Resources for Medieval Studies This is an easily searchable web site, using either the categories, subcategories, type of material (i.e., images or maps) and/or keyword.

Rome: Republic to Empire Based on a college course, this site contains information on Roman civilization and culture.

Israel and the Palestinians This BBC site includes current news, country profiles, maps, historical documents, and profiles of key individuals and groups.

MidEast Web: Middle East History and Resources MidEast Web is a comprehensive web site offering balanced coverage that includes maps, chronology, historical documents, a brief history of the region, biographies, news accounts and discussions of historical topics related to the Middle East.

The Question of Palestine The official U.N. site includes an overview, history, glossary, maps and collection of documents and resolutions.

Pacific Northwest History

Historylink.org Historylink is an evolving, online reference for Washingston state history.

Northwest History Database This is a Washington State University project to collect newspaper clippings on Northwest Native Americans; water issues; pollution disputes; and political and social issues.

Pacific Northwest History The University of Washington maintains this subject guide for Washington and a gateway to links on the Pacific Northwest.

Pacific Northwest Labor and Civil Rights History Projects This site is maintained by UW History professor and author James N. Gregory.

Washington History Online This site includes digitized versions of significant biographies and histories, historical maps, federal documents and other regional and local information from the Washington state archives.

The American Civil War Homepage The Homepage is an award-winning, comprehensive "gateway" that includes llinks to biographies, battle accounts, documents, images, historical context and more.

American Memory American Memory is a Library of Congress web site with links to African-American History, women's history, military history, Native American history, historical maps, American presidents, and immigration.

Digital History Academicians at the University of Houston have collected a variety of primary sources, i.e., newspaper, letters, multimedia, etc., on topics, issues, and cultural perspectives in American History.

Google News Archive Search Google provides access to digitized articles from a range of newspapers, regions, and historical eras. Not all articles are free.

A Guide to World War I Materials The Library of Congress has created a Collection Guide to the digital collections within the library that relate to World War I. The list includes several links to primary source materials.

Making of America MoA describes itself as " a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction ... particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology."

Rutgers University Libraries This university site serves as a gateway to U.S. history resources, sorted by subject, including African-American history, history by geography, history of popular culture, and women's history. (Includes links to PRIMARY SOURCES!)

The Vietnam Project The Vietnam Project consists of an archive of primary source materials, from soldiers' letters home to official documents to scholarly papers to oral histories. The site is searchable and is best accessed using Internet Explorer.
