 The Big Questions
Overview

        Course Purpose:

§  To demonstrate the vital importance of asking fundamental theological, philosophical, andcultural questions.

§  To expose students to the many ways in which seven of the world’s religions answer someof life’s big questions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism.  We will beguided by the text One World, ManyReligions: The Ways We Worship by Mary Pope Osborne.

§  To inspire students to seek true answers to humanity’s “big” questions.

§  To investigate the meaning of “truth” regarding religions’ answers to humanity’s bigquestions.

§  To provide a safe environment that inspires students to ask these questions andpursue true answers

§  To equip students with necessary skills for ongoing exploration of the big questions ofhumanity.
