NOTE: It is not a good idea to begin researching your tribe by searching the internet using Google, Bing, Yahoo, MSN, etc. There is a lot of misleading information on the web. Locating QUALITY information can be difficult. Use the resources below, books in your classroom and ask for help BEFORE you do a general internet search. If you do search the internet, make sure you choose a site that is TRUSTWORTH, and is written and/or hosted by a knowledgeable person/group (libraries, universities, major organizations, etc.)
Good resources to try first:
The History Resource Center - search by tribal name. If you don't find anything, check to see if the tribe you are studying has been called by a different name.
Bureau of Indian Affairs: Tribal Web Site Directory - use this page to find the official sites for all federally recognized tribes.
University of Washington: American Indians of the Pacific Northwest
Edward S. Curtis Photographs of American Indians at the Library of Congress - NOTE: These photographs are controversial and you must properly credit them if used in your project.
AP Images Database - for photographs and other images.
Opposing Viewpoints Database - Issues affecting American Indians can be controversial and you may find good information here. Remember that there are many different tabs of search results.
Music Resources:
Finding music for your project may be a bit difficult. Much of the music produced by musicians today is not available for free. If you find something, make sure you are using with permission of the artists. Not all things that are free on the Internet are supposed to be free :). The sites below may be able to help you.
If you don't find music for your project below, try searching by your tribe (or tribal group name) and the word music. a

Native American Musical Instruments of the United States from Wikimedia Commons (this is a site that links to resources you can use in your project. Make sure you note where the information is from if you use it in your project.)
