THE BEST RESOURCE:
Teen Health and Wellness: This is a really, really, really, really (I could go on) great resource for this project, it includes information on law, medical and social implications. Username/Password Required! (It's the usual)
Use the subject links on the left (Drugs and Alcohol) and then read the general info or look for more specific sub-topics on the left. You might find everything you need here!
Other Resources:
UXL Encyclopedia of Drugs and Addictive Substances from the library (you should have a couple with you where you are working).
Science in Context: This database has a range of more general articles (look for the 'reference' ones) and more technical articles (avoid the 'scholarly journals'). Password Required! (the usual)
Just Think Twice: This resource is from the DEA (US Drug Enforcement Agency) and has information on consequences, myths, facts and more about drug use.
National Substance Abuse Index has information on state and federal laws as well as links (once you are on the state page) to resources within Washington State. Look at the Controlled Substances act as well as the Federal Alcohol Laws and Guidelines for more specific details on laws.
