Geography Introduction
Hints and Strategies:
- Use the Library!
- There are many REFERENCE and NONFICTION books on almost every geography topic you can think of on the shelves. :)
- Use a R.A.D. Sheet for research notes!
- Get them from Ms. Harris, Mr. Albers or download one here: R.A.D. Form
- Use What You Know! Don't forget to try all of the following places for information on your topic:
- The Library - check the library catalog AND the geography reference section (the "900's on the reference shelves) for books and resources on your topic.
- The Geography Resources on this page.
- Online Databases:
- The "Free Web": Click here to go to the Web Search page.
- Be creative! Use the search strategies listed below to help you find information.
- Check your spelling!
- Use different words when searching (not just "chinese food" but also "chinese cuisine, " "chinese recipes" and "nutrition in china" for example)
- Choose a topic that has information available. Don't get stuck on something that is too hard to research. Explore your country before choosing a topic so that you pick something that will work.
Good Luck!
