Print Resources

Make sure you check out the books on Mythology located in your classroom. They are valuable resources and will make your job lots easier.

NOTE: The Mythology Print Resources are in Mr. Scotlan's room. YOU MAY USE THEM IN THE SCHOOL ONLY. These resources can not be checked out. If you need to make copies, please ask. Your best bet is to use study hall time and/or before and after school time to use the print resources.

Database Resources

The databases listed here will help you locate information to complete your Deity of the Day project.

Britannica Online You can find great stuff here, but be sure to use the Middle School or High School articles.

eLibrary When searching for information on your God or Goddess, you might need to weed through some random articles before you get to the good stuff. Remember that there are some companies, products and people with the same names as Gods. You can also try searching only for books.

History Resource Center: World

Oxford Reference Online There is great stuff here, but some articles are very short. You might need to click on a few before you find one with enough information for note taking.

Classical Myth: The Ancient Sources

You'll find great images of the Gods created by ancient greek artists. Brief biographies are included as well as references to major events in the live's of the Gods.

Mythweb

Click on Gods and then use the interactive picture to click on the God you need to research. You can also click on the “Today” link and read about influences your god has on today’s world. To get to your god, scroll to the bottom of the page and click next. You have to keep going to the next page until you get to your god.

8th graders in years past have found this site VERY helpful. Check it out!

Encyclopedia Mythica

Click on either Greek or Roman Mythology (click on the "articles" link). Then click on a God or Goddess of your choice.
