It has some fabulous, up-to-date info on all sorts of topics including who (and who not) to add to a friends list, what to do if your identity is stolen, what spyware is and, in general, how to stay safe on the web. The Center for Safe and Responsible Internet Use You'll find helpful information here, including resources for parents. The author of the site, Nancy E. Willard, has also written books for parents and teachers on internet safety. Her book for parents is: Cybersafe Kids, Cyber Savvy Teens: Helping young people learn to use the Internet safely and responsibly. She has also written a book for teachers, Cyberbullying and Cyberthreats: responding to the challenge of online social aggression, threats and distress.

NetSmartz.org This site, from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is excellent. It provides an abundance of information for kids, parents and guardians. In particular, the NetSmartz411 section provides answers to almost any question you can think of about internet safety.
